Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced Can substitute flank steak for sirloin.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use gluten-free soy sauce for a gluten-free version.
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar Adjust sweetness as desired.
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce Ensure hoisin sauce is gluten-free if needed.
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Garnish

  • Green onions, chopped For garnish.
  • Sesame seeds For garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain them well and set aside.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Incorporate the sliced beef into the skillet and cook until it's browned and fully cooked through.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  • Pour the sauce over the cooked beef, then stir in the egg noodles. Toss everything well to coat.
  • Allow to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and clings to the noodles.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of water or broth to prevent dryness. Can be frozen for up to a month.
