  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) You can substitute with different types of cheese.
  • 1 can refrigerated pie crusts You can use frozen pie crusts, thawed beforehand.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Unroll one pie crust and place it in a greased pie dish.
  • Spread the beef mixture evenly over the crust.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs, then pour this mixture over the beef layer.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
  • Place the second pie crust over the filling and crimp the edges to seal them.
  • Cut slits in the top crust to let steam escape.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with a side of salad or steamed vegetables, and consider ketchup, mustard, or pickles on the side for a classic cheeseburger experience. Store leftovers in the refrigerator and consume within 3-4 days.
