Preparation

  • Begin by placing the chicken breasts into your crockpot.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the teriyaki sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir until well mixed, then pour this mixture over the chicken.
  • If using pineapple chunks, add them to the crockpot now.

Cooking

  • Cover your crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
  • After cooking, shred the chicken right in the sauce to soak up all that delicious flavor.

Serving

  • Serve the shredded chicken over cooked rice or noodles and garnish with green onions if you like.

Notes

Leftover chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. For the best flavor, let the teriyaki chicken marinate overnight if possible.
