Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Can substitute with chicken thighs for different texture.
  • 1 packet Italian dressing mix
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup For a gluten-free version, choose gluten-free cream soup.
  • 1 cup sour cream Can substitute with Greek yogurt for a healthier twist.
  • 8 oz angel hair pasta Feel free to use any pasta you prefer.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Optional for decoration.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of the crock pot.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the Italian dressing mix, cream of chicken soup, and sour cream until smooth.
  • Pour this creamy mixture over the chicken in the crock pot.
  • Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easy to shred.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, cook the angel hair pasta according to the package instructions.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, shred it directly in the pot and mix it well with the sauce.
  • Serve the creamy chicken over the cooked angel hair pasta.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For additional flavor, consider adding garlic or onion powder to the chicken before adding the sauce. You can also add red pepper flakes for a bit of heat. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days, or frozen for up to three months.
