Ingredients

For the dumplings

  • 8 leaves Cabbage leaves Boiled until soft
  • 1 lb Ground meat (chicken, turkey, or pork) Can substitute with mushrooms and tofu for a vegetarian option
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, grated

  • 1 tsp Salt To taste
  • 1 tsp Black pepper To taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Prepare the cabbage leaves by boiling them in salted water until soft. Once done, drain them and set aside to cool down.
  • Combine the filling in a bowl by mixing the ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Season with salt and pepper for extra flavor.

Assembly and Cooking

  • Assemble the dumplings: Take a cabbage leaf, place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center, fold the sides over, and roll them up tightly.
  • Steam the dumplings for about 20 minutes or until they’re fully cooked.

Serving

  • Serve warm with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce for an added zing.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in a steamer or microwave. For freezing, ensure dumplings are cooled completely before freezing.
